Guess what?!? It's happening. Ok, you knew that from the title... What's happening?!? We are actually leaving. Hubby put in his three week notice on August 4th. Where are we going?!? WE DON'T KNOW!!! Yeah, a little crazy. A lot crazy if you know us- we are planners (me more than him, but when it comes to finances, he does NOT mess around)- so this is completely out of character for both of us! He has applied to just a couple of his top choices so far, and if we don't hear back this next week, then he may start broadening his search. We'd really like to go to Pittsburgh for the Fall (for STEELERS FOOTBALL!), but we have other places we are interested in exploring. So, at the end of the month, we are going somewhere and we can't wait for this adventure!
These. All of these. I promise. My Pilates Ring will be ordered in the coming days, and I'm excited to explore all the Pilates possibilities at home. I use it in my practice and teaching on the Reformer. It is a fundamental piece of equipment if you're looking for something that travels well because of its size and its light weight. Gliding Discs and Bender Balls are a staple at the Barre, but you don't HAVE to have a Barre to use them. Check out my YouTube Channel if you want any ideas on how to use them (I'll warn you- that thing is a bigger work in progress than this site right here, but hey- it serves its purpose right now!).
Do I get a couple pennies if you purchase from these links? Absolutely. Thank you for supporting me in what I love to do- share my love of fitness! <3
Also, if you're local and want discs or balls, let me know; I have connections that make them a bit cheaper than buying from Amazon! ;-)
To say I'm an anxious person is a severe understatement. I like to have everything planned, sometimes years in advance. I can tell you what I plan to make 3 years from now, and how I will need to spend it, based on current rates and how much I think costs will increase. I write everything down in a calendar and meticulously plan my days down to when I will eat and when I will have time for the 3 showers after my pool time and multiple workouts.
Now, I just have to wait. Patiently. We will be hitting the road... soon... this year? Next year? Maybe Summer of 2024... So why did I start to build this site in January of 2021? Because I like to plan for the next thing. I like to be prepared. But guess what? There is NO amount of preparation that is going to actually be sufficient for life on the road for 13 weeks at a time in an unknown location, with no friends, two dogs, a trailer, no gym membership, and all the time in the world. Well, I'll have time on my hands. My husband will be working his @$$ off at a new hospital. We'll explore the town on his days off. And when he's working? I will be here, sharing with you fine people everything I know and am learning about fitness and nutrition and how to squeeze in those workouts... Perhaps literally- I anticipate living in small spaces- either a hotel room, small AirBnB, or our trailer!! I'll have time to read all the fitness articles I've dreamt of having the time for, and I'll probably do a few more certifications, because... why not? As a soon-to-be former Kindergarten teacher, I believe that learning is a life-long process. I can't wait to have time to soak up more knowledge about my passions.
After nearly 2 years of health issues from 2011-2013, Jessie started hitting the local gym and quickly became addicted to indoor cycling. She became a Certified Schwinn Indoor Cycling Instructor in 2015, and over the years has acquired numerous other fitness certifications. Now, she is preparing to hit the road as her husband's sidekick on his hospital travel assignments. With no guaranteed gym membership and minimal equipment, Jessie is going to get creative with her workouts.
